Our Story

Sometimes, love sneaks up on you - over a drink at the right bar on the right night. That’s exactly how Jacqueline, an LA girl who thought she was done with New York dating, met Jonathan, a born-and-bred New Yorker from the Bronx, on July 2, 2021, at Twins on 34th Street. Jac had no plans to talk to anyone that night, but something (call it fate) made her take Jon’s number. From that moment on, they were inseparable. By August 2021, they were official, exchanging their first ‘I love you’s,’ and soon took their first real getaway together to Rhode Island, where, while sipping red wine on the beach with the waves crashing in the background, they both knew this was it. Fast forward to 2023, when they moved in together in Brooklyn, where Jon’s surprisingly large shoe collection and Jac’s wardrobe peacefully share the apartment — made possible by four very necessary closets.On July 2025, Jon finally proposed, catching Jac completely off guard at her parents’ house in Los Angeles during a visit. Happy tears, champagne, and a chorus of “about time!” followed. Now, they’re saying “I do” on January 16, 2027, in Punta Cana, celebrating Jon’s Dominican roots, Jac’s love of the ocean, their shared love of good food, great drinks, and fun, and the lucky coincidence that started it all in a New York bar.

Jac &amp; Jon will be taking the 6:52am United Airlines Flight UA 2122 out of Newark (EWR), arriving at PUJ 11:40am, on January 14, 2027, and we'd love for you to join us on the journey! If another flight is more convenient, no worries at all. Just let us know when you'll be landing so we can arrange transportation from the airport to the resort.

Of course, if another flight works better for you, no problem at all. We just ask that you let us know your arrival time so we can coordinate a shuttle from the airport to the resort.

For anyone who couldn’t make it to Punta Cana, we’d still love to celebrate with you! Join us as we officially sign our marriage documents at the courthouse, then come raise a glass with us at a pub for our little “welcome-home mini wedding.”
